Theatre skills for life

We are the island’s largest Acting Company with over 300 active members and purpose-built theatre. We provide an active working theatre environment for everyone to experience and learn within. The Cayman Drama Society is proud to present its training department. Since September 2016 we offer acting classes for children and adults of all levels, as well as bespoke workshops for corporate training or individual sessions for those with upcoming presentations, auditions or public speaking events. 


Artistic Director and Head of Drama Training, Haidee Elise 

Haidee Elise brings over 30 years of expertise spanning performing arts, theatre, creative program management, and learning & development. She has taught drama and dance in London at institutions such as The College of Northeast London and Stagecoach.

Haidee trained at The Academy of Live and Recorded Arts and holds an MBA from Central Saint Martins (University of the Arts London), where she explored innovative ways to integrate drama and creative techniques into business performance and championed the benefits of inclusive, diverse workforces.

Her acting repertoire includes iconic roles such as Ophelia (Hamlet), Ariel (The Tempest), Regan (King Lear), and Lady Macbeth, performed in theatre tours across London, Paris, and Boston. Additional credits include Tourvel (Les Liaisons Dangereuses), Marjorie Pinchwife (The Country Wife), and Mrs. Milcote (Coram Boy). In 2012, Haidee performed in the opening and closing ceremonies of the London Olympics.

For over 15 years, Haidee has been a key member of the Artistic Team at The Tower Theatre London, contributing to the programming of 19 productions annually. She produced Entertaining Mr Orton at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Edith and Margaritte and Shoot The Bugger at the London fringe in 2018. Her costume design credits include Wolf Hall, The Importance of Being Earnest, Measure for Measure, To Kill a Mockingbird, and Hay Fever.

Haidee’s professional performing arts career began in 1995, taking her worldwide for corporate events, theatre productions, and cruise ship performances. She was Ginger Spice in the first-ever Spice Girls tribute band, supporting headline acts such as Jools Holland, Louise, Kavana, 911, and Alison Limerick. Her television appearances include MTV, The Big Breakfast, GMTV, Live TV Pop Quiz, BBC1 documentaries, Sky News, and ITV.

In 2018, Haidee co-wrote and released her first EP with Roger Knott, produced in Nashville by Thomm Jutz. She continues to create music and is currently learning to play the harp.

In her corporate career, Haidee has consulted for businesses and developed business leaders through learning and development programmes with essential skills learnt through acting and performance, alongside training in the areas of diversity and inclusion to develop successful business leaders. Haidee, has presented at conferences and chaired numerous live Q&A sessions, with a highlight being her interview with Sir Lenny Henry.
